Q2 Holdings, Inc. Investor Relations
(Comp Design “not yet built”) The Investor website is a microsite within the main Q2 umbrella that needed to be updated to be consistent with the rest of the site. The website is meant to provide information regarding the company and any related news and financial results as it relates to investors. I designed all of these pages using Figma.
The Challenge
The investor team at Q2 wanted their site redone to match the new Q2.com website to have a continuous look and feel to their site. Knowing we were not the ones who were developing it, I knew there would be certain elements or animations that we could not design for it. Secondly, I needed to consider that “they might not be able to do anything with the first design” given, which meant I needed to make two design options to walk them through. There were other important factors to take into consideration as well such as:
The copy was not changing
I needed to use components that were already built to keep costs down
All the icons needed to follow the UI of the main Q2.com page
The original animated charts stayed as part of the page and staying in the original spots
The Solution
I wanted to focus on the messaging and goals of the site to make it a more modern UI. Knowing our limitations, I decided to make the other slightly different. I played around with layout ideas that I presented to my art director and our developer to check that what I came up with would even work. I worked directly with the third-party design company for the presentations, handoff, and communication. To include, making sure anyone within that team who needed access to Figma would have view rights to pull elements needed and see the padding, text size and so much more.
The New Design
I believe, I accomplished the goal of the original ask and brought it even further out. One of the main goals asked was, to be able to play a PPT slide within the layout, which was accomplished by having it act as an overlay opened by a button within the hero. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for the targeted user without sending them to a new page. Here are some other design elements I brought into the UI to make it more consistent with the rest of Q2.com:
Glass morphism plays a huge role in the new Q2.com site and was brought in here as well
How the icons were treated in other pages came into play here as well
The information is easy to read
The inner pages have a glow on them, that I did have to change for this in that it does not animate
Conclusion
The design that I did as option #2 was very similar to the one shown, however instead of an overlay for the PPT it opens to a new screen as it currently does. I feel like I was able to accomplish, all the goals set forward from the first design meeting with the investor team and stayed in touch with them throughout the process.
